Description:
The Sony DXC-D55WSHPAC3 is a 16:9/4:3 multicore kit built around the DXC-D55WSH 2/3" camera head. The package includes all the necessary components to get up and running, including an SDI camera adapter, control unit, 5" studio viewfinder and tripod adapter plate.
Features:
• Switchable Aspect Ratio
The WSH model of the DXC-D55 series camera has an additional provision allowing it to perform natively in either the standard 4:3 format or at 16:9 widescreen, commonly used in theatrical productions. This added versatility is especially useful for television products which are moving into wide-screen HDTV market.
• 14-Bit A/D Processing
The DXC-D55WSH features 14-bit analog to digital conversion improving overall image reproduction in a variety of areas, most notably decreasing over noise levels and increase color accuracy in mid-tones. Additionally, the technology produces extremely low vertical smear.
• Low Key Saturation
The "Low Key" Saturation function helps retain color and detail in low-light areas of the scene by optimizing color amplification in low-light levels. This function provides more natural color reproduction.
• Cross-Color Suppression
In order to keep cross-color and cross-luminance to a minimum, the DXC-D55WSH virtually eliminates frequency components that may create artifacts being generated prior to the signal output. The use of a digital three-line comb filtering results in a great reduction of the cross color and dot crawl normally seen on picture monitors fed a composite signal.
• Skin Tone Detail Control
The camera allows softer detail correction to be applied in facial areas while maintaining sharpness of the other parts of the picture. The operator can quickly select the function with the Area-detector cursor in the viewfinder. The color range for the skin tone detail and skin detail level can be selected manually using the menu system.
• Memory Stick File Operation
You may store and recall setup parameters for individual scenes or camera setup preferences. These parameters stored on a Memory Stick card can be transferred to another camera or remote control unit allowing quick setup in multiple camera systems. Additionally, the files may be transmitted through your computer via email attachment and shared with cameras in remote locations.
• Long Cable Runs
The CA-D50 will supply SDI video via the 26-pin CCZ-AD cable up to 492 feet or 150 meters. The older cable model CCZ-A will run SDI 75 meters. If even longer runs are required, the CCZ-A cable will run an analog component signal 300 meters or 984 feet.
• Intercom Compatible
The CA-D50 with the CCU-D50 supports all the major intercom systems including Clearcom, RTS, and 2- and 4-wire systems.
• Serial Digital Component Video
With the CA-D50 SDI camera adapter on the DXC-D50/D50WS digital camera head, the CCU-D50 will receive component digital video signals over long runs of cable. The CCZ-AD series of 26-pin cables will run SDI video up to 150 meters or over 490 feet. Using the older CCZ-A cables, you can get 75 meter SDI runs. The CCZ-A cables will also run analog component video up to 300 meters.
• Full DSP Control
When the CCU-D50 is used with the RCP-D50 or RCP-D51 remote panels, the user gains full access to the DXC-D50/D50WS sophisticated DSP for amazing picture-look control. Parameters like Knee Saturation, Adaptive Highlight Control, Low Key Saturation, Cross Color Suppression, and Skin Tone Detail are customizable for individual production scenarios.
• The 4:3 CRT of the DXF-51 automatically switches between 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios, depending on the active aspect ratio of the connected camera.
• Tally Indicators:
- Red: A Red REC (Record) tally is located above and below the viewfinder screen. This ensures that - the operator will not overlook the REC indicator.
- Green: A Green tally is located above the viewfinder screen, as an alternative for CCU operation
- Main: A large White REC tally for the talent is located at the rear of the viewfinder
• Includes both 20-pin and 8-pin camera connectors. Various controls such as Shutter/Gain LED indication and 4:3/16:9 switching are possible through 20-pin serial data transmission. The native 20-pin connector is designed for use with cameras such as the DXC-D35. An 8-pin cable is supplied for use with conventional Sony cameras such as the DXC-637 and DXC-327.
• Pan and Tilt control is easily adjusted. A Tilt range of +/- 40° and Pan range of +/-90°. At any tilt angle, the center of gravity does not change, keeping the camera balance stable.
• The DXF-51 is small and lightweight. Its main chassis is constructed of rugged die-cast aluminum, making the viewfinder body very durable.
• Front Panel Controls
- Peaking: On/Off, with attenuation
- Tally: On/Off
- Bright: Controls brightness of image
- Contrast: Adjusts the brightness relation between the subject and background
